MARKING, 2022-08240184 Clarendon Boulevard and N. Troy Street. Around 6:11 p.m. on August 24, police were dispatched to the observation of a brandishing. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. The investigation determined that the suspect was parked illegally when the victim approached on foot and confronted him. The suspect then exited his vehicle and allegedly retrieved a weapon, which was later determined to be an airsoft gun, from the trunk. The victim left the scene safely and no injuries were reported. The driver was suspected of driving under the influence. Fernando Yu Shan, 28, of Fairfax, Va., was arrested and charged with brandishing, driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. He was held on bail.

AGGRESSION AND BATTERY ON THE POLICE, 2022-08240063, 4600 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 8:32 a.m. on August 24, police were dispatched to the report of an individual who had exposed himself in the courtyard of a residential property. The responding officer located the suspect and attempted to detain him while he investigated the incident. The suspect refused to follow the officer’s orders, pushed the officer and fled into a residence. With the assistance of additional units, the suspect was taken into custody without incident. During the investigation, the suspect provided false identifying information. Nicholas Johns, 25, of Arlington, Va., was arrested and charged with assault and battery on police, impersonation and indecent exposure. He was held on bail.
