Sauble Beach native Kurtis MacDermid had his day with the Stanley Cup yesterday

MacDermid, a defenseman for the Stanley Cup-winning Colorado Avalanche, presented the cup at Shallow Lake Arena where he played Minor Jockey and at a parade along Lakeshore Boulevard in Sauble Beach attended by a big crowd

Owen Sound teenager Jesse Walker will be doing a long-distance run on Saturday to raise money for childhood cancer research.

This is the 3rd year in a row that Jesse has done a long distance race and in the first 2 years he has generated over $50,000.
